 Meet Rocky! 🐾

Rocky was owner surrendered to our rescue after we received an urgent call from a city staff member regarding a very skinny dog tied out behind the owner’s home. He had been forgotten about and was living his life on a tie out with very little attention, care, or love. No dog deserves that kind of life and seeing the condition he was in absolutely broke our hearts.

Despite everything Rocky has been through, he has remained such a loving and resilient dog. The skinny, neglected dog we first met is now completely healthy, heartworm negative, and fully vetted. Watching him heal and finally experience kindness and proper care has been incredibly rewarding.

Rocky is around 4 years old and is dog friendly. He absolutely loves to play and gets very excited during playtime. Because of that, he can play rough at times and would do best with dogs that enjoy that same kind of energy and play style. Rocky previously lived around cats while on the tie out and the owner stated he did not bother them. However, they also stated he killed chickens, so he will need a home without poultry or farm birds.

After spending years tied outside and overlooked, Rocky deserves to finally know what it feels like to truly be part of a family. He deserves a soft bed, affection, attention, and people who will never forget about him again. We would love nothing more than to see Rocky finally get the happy ending he has always deserved. Meet Eli. ❤️

Eli was found dumped and running the streets in Thornton, TX. He was scared and unsure, and we had to trap him to safely get him off the streets. After getting him safe, we discovered he was microchipped. Sadly, the person connected to his microchip never responded. We contacted the shelter he originally came from in Bryan, TX and learned that his owner had attempted to dump him in the shelter parking lot back in December. At that time, Eli was also skinny.

We will never understand why because Eli is truly such a sweet boy. Despite what humans have put him through, he still has so much love to give. He is friendly, loving, and does great with other dogs. Eli is 1 years old and is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative, received the Pro Heart 12 vaccine, and microchipped. 

This sweet boy deserved better than being abandoned, but his story changes now. He is safe, loved, and will have the chance to find a family who will never give up on him again.

 Meet Cloud!

Cloud and his siblings were found on a property in Mexia, TX after a welfare check was requested for their owner. Sadly, their owner had passed away and had been deceased for weeks before they were discovered.

Despite everything Cloud has been through, he is such a sweet boy! He is dog, cat, and kid friendly, and we are currently working with him on his leash training.

Cloud is getting fully vetted this week and will soon be ready to start his next chapter with a family of his own.

Meet Meatball. ❤️

Meatball is a beautiful 3-month-old kitten who was saved after being found underneath a car. Now that he is safe, he is ready for the next chapter of his life—a forever family of his very own!

Meatball is dog and cat friendly and has quite the little personality. He is especially talkative around dinner time and isn’t shy about reminding you when it’s time to eat!

This sweet boy deserves to grow up knowing the love and security of a forever home.

 Meet Dixie.

Dixie showed up at someone’s home asking for help after being dumped like trash. This sweet girl did not deserve what happened to her. She has clearly been massively over bred and it has taken a toll on her body, especially her back legs. Dixie currently has a hard time walking and standing properly, but she is safe now and finally getting the care she deserves.

We have seen a case similar to Dixie before, although that dog’s condition was even more severe. Sadly, this is what can happen when dogs are repeatedly bred with no regard for their health or wellbeing. Dixie is only around 5 years old and should not already be struggling this way.

On top of everything else, Dixie is also heartworm positive. She has now started medical care and will be going through rehabilitation to help strengthen her back legs while beginning heartworm treatment. Right now, Dixie is available for adoption but her adopter will need to continue to allow her physically to get stronger by daily exercise.

Please remember to spay and neuter your pets. Dogs do not deserve to be used up and discarded when their bodies can no longer keep up. Dixie deserved better from humans, and we are determined to show her that love and kindness still exist.

Meet Frosty! 

Frosty and his siblings were found on a property in Mexia, TX after a welfare check was requested for their owner. Sadly, their owner had passed away and had been deceased for weeks before they were discovered.

Meet Cash!   

New rescue intake from 1-13-26. On December 30th, this dog was posted at the same Walmart in Mexia, TX where Rikki was originally found. At that time, he appeared approachable, and we asked in the comments if animal control had been contacted. We never saw any follow-up posts, and as usual, rescue life stayed busy.

On 1-13-25, a woman who lives behind the Walmart reached out to us about what appeared to be the same dog. This time, he was covered in blood and limping. It was also reported that he was tied to a female dog who was loose in the area. My mom immediately got ready and headed that way.

He is dog friendly but will need a home without cats. He is a smaller boy around 45-50 pounds. We are accepting applications. Once healed he will be available to adopt. 

Pippa entered into Bell County Shelter with a litter. Her eyes and skin was in rough shape. She is a Pug/Dachshund mix. She is around 10-12 weeks old. She will not be available until she is spayed.

 Meet Lucky 💙

Lucky was left abandoned on a property that had been sold. What makes his story even more heartbreaking is this was not the first time he had been left behind.

Lucky is a sweet Lab mix with the kindest heart. He does have some quivers, but our vet said he should still be able to live a normal life. The quivers seem to be when he is stressed. He is only around 4–5 years old but appears older simply because of the life he has had to endure. Isn’t that just sad? No animal should ever have to experience being forgotten and left behind.

Despite everything Lucky has gone through, he still has so much love to give. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped.

Lucky is dog friendly and previously lived on a ranch before coming to us. He loves water! Now it is time for him to finally know what it feels like to have a family who will love him and never leave him behind again.

Lucky deserves his happy ending.

Meet Misty!

Misty and her siblings were found on a property in Mexia, TX after a welfare check was requested for their owner. Sadly, their owner had passed away and had been deceased for weeks before they were discovered.

Despite everything Misty has been through she is such a sweet girl! She has 3 puppies. She is dog, cat, and kid friendly, and we are currently working with her on leash training.

 She will not be available for adoption until her pups are weaned and she is fully vetted. 

Meet Sugar!

Meet Socks!

Socks and her siblings were found on a property in Mexia, TX after a welfare check was requested for their owner. Sadly, their owner had passed away and had been deceased for weeks before they were discovered.

Left on the streets to suffer greatly, this sweet soul was finally seen. The person who made the call to save her has named her Angel, and that name could not be more fitting. Angel is in rough shape. She is not wanting to put weight on her feet as they are extremely swollen and infected. About 80% of her body is covered in mange and a severe skin infection. Her neck appears to have been draining pus, and she is clearly in pain. While she has been kind and gentle so far, she does not want to be touched right now, which is completely understandable given what her body is enduring.

We do not know her age, and we are not going to push her in any way. Right now, the only focus is getting her comfortable, treating her pain, and starting the long road to healing. No animal should ever have to live like this. Please keep Angel in your prayers and pray for fast, gentle healing for her broken body and spirit. 

 Meet Louie.

Louie was found dumped on a rural county road along with another dog. Sadly, he had been neglected for quite some time before someone finally stepped in to help. When Louie arrived, he was completely matted. His fur was so bad that sticks, grass seeds, and debris had become buried into his coat and skin, leaving him with painful wounds. No animal should ever have to live that way.

Thankfully, Louie is now safe and receiving the care he deserves. He is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative and received ProHeart 12 vaccine, and microchipped. We suspect he is around 3-4 years old. 

He needs to be sedated with pills that we have for grooming appointments. 

Despite everything Louie has been through, he is a sweet boy who is dog and cat friendly. We do want to be transparent that Louie needs someone who understands his boundaries. He can become snippy when he is uncomfortable with certain people or being touched in certain ways, so he should be watched closely around children. He is not fond of meeting strangers and has two bite case histories since being at the rescue. He needs a family who will give him patience, respect, and time to feel safe. Louie’s past may have started with neglect and abandonment, but his future starts now. He is finally loved, cared for, and getting the second chance he always deserved.

 Meet Mindy!

Mindy is a beautiful Shar-Pei mix who is the perfect medium size. She has the sweetest heart and so much energy and excitement for life!

Sadly, Mindy’s life before rescue was not what she deserved. She was used for breeding and then dumped in horrible condition when she was no longer wanted. Despite what humans put her through, Mindy has not let her past take away her happiness or her love for people.

Mindy is sadly heartworm positive, but that is not a death sentence for her. Thankfully, it was caught early and she is already undergoing treatment. Her future family can continue helping her by keeping her on monthly heartworm prevention as recommended.

She is around 2 years old and is now spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. She is ready to leave her past behind and find the family she has always deserved.

Mindy is dog and kid friendly! We are not sure about cats. She is a happy girl who is ready for a second chance at a life full of love.

Foxy is a beautiful Husky mix who is around 4–5 months old. Sadly, her owner passed away on the property, and no one knew for weeks. By the time the dogs were discovered, they were emaciated, covered in fleas and ticks, and understandably scared.

Foxy, her siblings, and their parents were all saved by our rescue and are now getting the care, nutrition, and love they desperately needed.

Foxy still has some healing to do, but once she is healthy and fully vetted, she will be available for adoption. You do not have to wait to fall in love with her, though! We are accepting pre-applications now.

Meet Rosie!

We are hoping to find an adopter for her up North or a rescue to take her in. She will not be available for adoption until her pups are weaned and she is fully vetted. 

Meet Winston!

Winston and his sibling were dumped in the middle of nowhere in Limestone County and left to survive on their own. We worked to safely trap them, but sadly, Winston's sibling was too afraid to enter the trap and was later hit by a car. Winston was successfully trapped and brought safely into our rescue.

When Winston first arrived, he was extremely scared and completely shut down. He didn't understand that he was finally safe or that the people around him wanted to help him.

Thankfully, we are beginning to see glimpses of his fun little personality! Winston is slowly learning to trust us and is starting to show interest in interacting with us. Every little step forward is a big accomplishment for this sweet boy.

Winston is getting fully vetted this week, and we are currently accepting adoption applications. He will need a patient, loving family willing to give him the time he needs to continue building his confidence and learning that people can be good.

Winston survived being abandoned. Now it's time for him to learn what it feels like to be loved.
