Meet Dexter! 🐾
This poor boy was found wandering the streets of Temple, TX, barely holding on. When Dexter was found, he was nothing but skin and bones. His tiny body weighed only 5 pounds. His eyes were completely matted shut, with pus pouring from them, and his mouth told a story of long-term neglect with severely diseased teeth. He was weak, exhausted, and dangerously close to losing his life. Dexter didn’t just need help, he needed immediate, life-saving medical care.
He was rushed in and hospitalized, where he could finally receive the care his body had been begging for. Every moment mattered. This is what happens when animals are left to suffer alone on our streets.
Right now, Dexter is still fighting. He is still healing. He is still trying to recover from everything his little body has endured.
He is not available for adoption at this time as his journey is far from over, but we will continue to share updates as he progresses.
Please keep Dexter in your thoughts as he continues to heal. Cases like his are why we do what we do, because without intervention, he would not be here today.
Healing broken hearts, one life at a time.

Meet Rocky! 🐾
Rocky was owner surrendered to our rescue after we received an urgent call from a city staff member regarding a very skinny dog tied out behind the owner’s home. He had been forgotten about and was living his life on a tie out with very little attention, care, or love. No dog deserves that kind of life and seeing the condition he was in absolutely broke our hearts.
Despite everything Rocky has been through, he has remained such a loving and resilient dog. The skinny, neglected dog we first met is now completely healthy, heartworm negative, and fully vetted. Watching him heal and finally experience kindness and proper care has been incredibly rewarding.
Rocky is around 4 years old and is dog friendly. He absolutely loves to play and gets very excited during playtime. Because of that, he can play rough at times and would do best with dogs that enjoy that same kind of energy and play style. Rocky previously lived around cats while on the tie out and the owner stated he did not bother them. However, they also stated he killed chickens, so he will need a home without poultry or farm birds.
After spending years tied outside and overlooked, Rocky deserves to finally know what it feels like to truly be part of a family. He deserves a soft bed, affection, attention, and people who will never forget about him again. We would love nothing more than to see Rocky finally get the happy ending he has always deserved. If you are interested in adopting Rocky, please apply

Meet Sophie. Sadly, this sweet little girl entered a local shelter as a stray. Sophie was microchipped and already spayed, meaning she clearly belonged to someone at one point, but no one ever came for her. At 13 years old and only 9.9 pounds, Sophie deserved to be safe at home, not sitting alone wondering why her family never returned.
Despite everything, Sophie has remained nothing but loving. She is an absolute sweetheart who loves to cuddle and be close to people. She is dog, cat, and kid friendly, making her an easy little companion to adore. For 13 years old, Sophie honestly appears to be in great shape and still has so much love left to give.
One thing that was very noticeable was the severe tartar buildup on her teeth. In fact, some of the tartar actually fell off while she was at the shelter. Dental care is so important for our pets because untreated dental disease can become painful and affect their overall health. Thankfully, Sophie is now safe and will receive the care and love she deserves.
Senior dogs like Sophie still deserve a chance. They deserve soft beds, kind hands, warm laps, and families who will cherish them through every stage of life. Sophie may be 13, but her heart is still full of love to give.

Meet Eli. ❤️
Eli was found dumped and running the streets in Thornton, TX. He was scared and unsure, and we had to trap him to safely get him off the streets. After getting him safe, we discovered he was microchipped. Sadly, the person connected to his microchip never responded. We contacted the shelter he originally came from in Bryan, TX and learned that his owner had attempted to dump him in the shelter parking lot back in December. At that time, Eli was also skinny.
We will never understand why because Eli is truly such a sweet boy. Despite what humans have put him through, he still has so much love to give. He is friendly, loving, and does great with other dogs. Eli is 1 years old and is already neutered and is scheduled on June 8th to receive his vaccines, heartworm test, and prevention.
This sweet boy deserved better than being abandoned, but his story changes now. He is safe, loved, and will have the chance to find a family who will never give up on him again.

Teresa was living at a golf course in Killeen, Texas for at least a month before she was finally brought to safety. We worked alongside another trapper to help secure this girl and get her off the streets. Situations like this take teamwork, patience, and compassion, and we are thankful she is finally safe.
Teresa is around 2 years old and is one of the most heartbroken dogs we have seen in quite some time. You can see it in her eyes and in the way she reacts to love and attention. It is obvious this girl has been through more than she ever should have. Right now, she is learning that she no longer has to survive on her own and that people can be kind.
At this time Teresa is not available for adoption as we are focusing on her vetting, decompression, and helping heal her emotionally. While she still has a journey ahead of her, we are happy to share that she currently has two potential homes interested in giving her the life she deserves once she is ready.
Please continue to keep Teresa in your thoughts as she begins her healing journey.

Meet Dixie.
Dixie showed up at someone’s home asking for help after being dumped like trash. This sweet girl did not deserve what happened to her. She has clearly been massively over bred and it has taken a toll on her body, especially her back legs. Dixie currently has a hard time walking and standing properly, but she is safe now and finally getting the care she deserves.
We have seen a case similar to Dixie before, although that dog’s condition was even more severe. Sadly, this is what can happen when dogs are repeatedly bred with no regard for their health or wellbeing. Dixie is only around 5 years old and should not already be struggling this way.
On top of everything else, Dixie is also heartworm positive. She has now started medical care and will be going through rehabilitation to help strengthen her back legs while beginning heartworm treatment. Right now, Dixie is not available for adoption as her focus needs to be on healing both physically and emotionally.
Please remember to spay and neuter your pets. Dogs do not deserve to be used up and discarded when their bodies can no longer keep up. Dixie deserved better from humans, and we are determined to show her that love and kindness still exist.

Meet Cash!
New rescue intake from 1-13-26. On December 30th, this dog was posted at the same Walmart in Mexia, TX where Rikki was originally found. At that time, he appeared approachable, and we asked in the comments if animal control had been contacted. We never saw any follow-up posts, and as usual, rescue life stayed busy.
On 1-13-25, a woman who lives behind the Walmart reached out to us about what appeared to be the same dog. This time, he was covered in blood and limping. It was also reported that he was tied to a female dog who was loose in the area. My mom immediately got ready and headed that way.
He is dog friendly but will need a home without cats. He is a smaller boy around 45-50 pounds. We are accepting applications. Once healed he will be available to adopt.

Marley’s Journey 🐾💔
Sweet Marley was found dragging her back legs, struggling to survive. When we took her in and had X-rays done, we discovered something heartbreaking. Marley had been shot with a BB gun, and the pellet was lodged dangerously close to her spine. Despite everything she had been through, Marley remained incredibly gentle and trusting with people. Her sweet spirit never changed.
One of her back legs was no longer usable, so Marley underwent amputation surgery. Today she is rocking life as an adorable little tripod. Marley does use her third leg, just not like a typical tripod, but she still gets around well and continues to enjoy life.
Her future adopter will simply need to understand that Marley is not a dog who will go on walks. She is happiest living a relaxed life at home where she can enjoy the comfort of a house and backyard.
Marley is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. She is dog, cat, and kid friendly and has a wonderful temperament.
All Marley wants is a safe home, a family who understands her needs, and a place where she can simply enjoy life and be loved.

Meet Levi 💙
Levi was abandoned during one of the coldest moments imaginable. He was left in a crate through the ice storm with a small dog crated beside him. Despite everything he endured, Levi’s spirit is nothing short of incredible. He was underweight when found, but his heart was still full of love. Levi is estimated to be 5+ years old and is truly one of the sweetest souls you will ever meet.
Levi is dog friendly, kid friendly, and people friendly. He walks great on a leash and has a gentle, affectionate personality, and LOVES the water.
He is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative, has received her yearly ProHeart injection, and is microchipped.
Levi is ready to leave his painful past behind and finally experience the warmth, safety, and love he always deserved. If you are looking for a loyal, loving companion who will be forever grateful, Levi may be your perfect match.

NOT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION AT THIS TIME!
Left on the streets to suffer greatly, this sweet soul was finally seen. The person who made the call to save her has named her Angel, and that name could not be more fitting. Angel is in rough shape. She is not wanting to put weight on her feet as they are extremely swollen and infected. About 80% of her body is covered in mange and a severe skin infection. Her neck appears to have been draining pus, and she is clearly in pain. While she has been kind and gentle so far, she does not want to be touched right now, which is completely understandable given what her body is enduring.
We do not know her age, and we are not going to push her in any way. Right now, the only focus is getting her comfortable, treating her pain, and starting the long road to healing. No animal should ever have to live like this. Please keep Angel in your prayers and pray for fast, gentle healing for her broken body and spirit.

Meet Louie.
Louie was found dumped on a rural county road along with another dog. Sadly, he had been neglected for quite some time before someone finally stepped in to help. When Louie arrived, he was completely matted. His fur was so bad that sticks, grass seeds, and debris had become buried into his coat and skin, leaving him with painful wounds. No animal should ever have to live that way.
Thankfully, Louie is now safe and receiving the care he deserves. He is already neutered and is scheduled on June 8th to receive his vaccines, heartworm test, and prevention. We suspect he is around 3-4 years old.
Despite everything Louie has been through, he is a sweet boy who is dog and cat friendly. We do want to be transparent that Louie needs someone who understands his boundaries. He can become snippy when he is uncomfortable with certain people or being touched in certain ways, so he should be watched closely around children. He needs a family who will give him patience, respect, and time to feel safe. Louie’s past may have started with neglect and abandonment, but his future starts now. He is finally loved, cared for, and getting the second chance he always deserved.

Meet DeeDee
DeeDee is a shy but incredibly sweet 1 year old girl who was born on the streets alongside her littermates, including her brother Bo, who is still with our rescue. When DeeDee first arrived, she struggled with skin issues, but she has healed beautifully and is now thriving. DeeDee can be a little timid when meeting new people, but once you toss a ball and spend a little time playing with her, her personality begins to shine and the bond forms quickly. She simply needs a patient family willing to give her a little time to feel safe, and in return she becomes an incredibly loyal and loving companion.
She is dog, cat, and kid friendly and would do well in many types of homes that understand she may take a short adjustment period before fully opening up. Once she does, she truly is the best girl. DeeDee is fully vetted and ready for her forever home. She is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative, has received her yearly ProHeart injection, and is microchipped.
If you are looking for a gentle soul who just needs a chance to blossom, DeeDee may be the perfect addition to your family.

Meet Lucy.
Lucy was found on a rural road in heartbreaking condition. She is a full-blooded French Bulldog who appears to have been used for breeding and then discarded when she was no longer wanted. It is apparent Lucy’s life before rescue was not the life any dog deserves. Her condition shows signs of being confined for long periods of time, most likely kept in a crate and used for puppies. She came to us covered in skin issues, suffering from ear infections, cauliflower ear, mammary gland tumors, and other medical concerns that we are now addressing.
It is truly heartbreaking to see what some animals endure at the hands of humans, but Lucy’s suffering stops here. From this moment forward, she will know kindness, comfort, and the love she should have always received.
Lucy is NOT available for adoption at this time. Our focus is getting her healthy, completing all of her medical care, and making sure she is fully vetted before we even begin looking for her forever home.
Her healing journey starts now. ❤️

Bo is a 1 year old hound mix with a heart full of love and a story that truly tugs at the heartstrings. Born on the streets, Bo was part of a litter that was rescued at a very young age and cared for by our rescue while waiting to transfer to a northern rescue. Sadly, that transfer never happened, but we have never stopped believing that Bo’s perfect forever home is out there. Bo has now been with us for over a year with sadly no interest, and that is something we simply cannot understand. He is such a sweet boy who has grown up in rescue when what he really deserves is a loving home of his own.
Bo is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative, has received his yearly ProHeart injection, and is microchipped. He is great with dogs, cats, and kids, which makes him an easy addition to many families. Bo is ready to trade rescue life for couch cuddles, playtime, and unconditional love. All he needs is someone willing to give him the chance he deserves.
Could you be the one to give Bo the forever home he has been waiting for?
