Animal Rescue Serving Central Texas
Tax Id: 88-1065220
We take in medical cases that require rehab to get back to a healthy state. Our goal is to heal each heart and body so they may live happy lives after.
Our goal is to help an animal in need regardless. We can't change their past but we can give them a brighter future!
Our rescue will provide help to the community and network with other rescues. We want to help be supportive in any way we can so that more are saved.
Our dog rescue building sits on 5 acres in Thornton, TX. Each run is a 5x6 inside run that leads to a 6x20 outside run via a dog door. Our building is heated and has AC. Each outdoor run has a sun awning over each dog door.
We have 1/4 of an acre fenced off with heavy duty dog panels that are 6' high. Each dog run on the outside also have cement under the runs to prevent anyone from digging out. We currently have to redesign the inside walls to make it more durable for the dogs. We are currently installing heavy duty dog doors as well.
We are still completing the play yard. Thanks to a wonderful donator we were able to install a deck on the backside of the building and a pool for the dogs. Thanks to another wonderful donator they custom built benches with umbrellas for each bench to provide shade to volunteers. We are looking at putting in agility toys as well.
We have many amazing items available for purchase through our store front. A % of your purchases will come back to our animal rescue. If there are items you would like to see added on the store front please let us know! We are adding items daily.
We pulled Nikki from a local shelter after her owner was arrested and remained in jail. None of the family came to get her either. As you can see she suffers from deformities in her front legs. Thanks to Mango's Mission she was sponsored for a front wheelchair and they are currently making her one! We will be sharing her journey on all of our social media platforms!
Dottie is a new rescue. This poor girl was found dumped in a park in Belton, Tx. She was found in this condition on top of having a phone charger wrapped around her neck. She fought hard to stay alive. She spent a week in the hospital and is now at our rescue to continue to healing. Dottie is still with us at the rehab and still suffers from PTSD.
Bleu is a new rescue. He was found outside a home in this condition. He is currently receiving love, rehab, and care to heal him. He is only a 4-5 month old puppy. It is very sad that he was left in this condition. Bleu healed up and found his amazing new home!!!
Wilma and her sibling was dumped on a business road in Temple, Tx. Both too scared to go to anyone to help. Sadly after a few days her sibling was hit by a car and killed. It took another 10-12 months to get her safe. Joy of Healing Heart Rehab finally saw her in person after months and months of going to the location. She set a trap and was able to get her. She was scared and had a badly injured leg. She went straight to the vet the next day. Her leg was broken badly and the leg had to be amputated. Through TikTok her amazing new Dad found his new fur baby! Joy and her husband drove her all the way from Texas to South Carolina to her new home!
Marcella was born with a cleft and sent to a tube feeder. The tube feeder did great but unfortunately didn't speak up with being scared to switching her to dry food when they time came. She was very skinny and still had not learned how to eat on her own. Debra rehabbed her and is now a beautiful healthy dog living her best life at Debra's house.
Joy Bastow makes sure to post their stories to help educate the community on lives being saved. She does it to help prevent others ending up like many that have rescued and educate the community to become bigger voices for animals in need all over!
Joy did this video shortly after a puppy was found and saved by Debra who had his mouth and nose ripped off. So many people commented suggesting euthanizing the pup to end his suffering. Many cases before people suggested the same. Too many injured animals are quickly being euthanized without given a chance to heal and recover. This is another reason we share their stories is to show people many of them will survive which is why we are dedicated to helping medical cases.
